Holiday Tablescape: Mixing Old and New

I have to admit, I am new to the holiday hosting role, but I love dreaming up beautiful tablescape ideas and delicious menus for Christmas Eve and Christmas. Fortunately, I get to ease into this new role with my fiance Matt and we are only hosting his parents and my parents. A small group that I hope will turn into a bigger holiday tradition!

In anticipation of this new role, my mother bought me vintage Lenox Holiday China from an estate sale via Everything But The House last year. Since I was working for the company at the time I got to meet the sweet woman who had previously owned and loved the set. And what's crazy is that all the pieces are in perfect condition! Even after years of use and children and grandchildren, not one crack.

I love vintage, but as a modern collector, my real style is mixing old with new. Here I have styled my holiday tablescape with vintage Lenox Holiday China, Lucia Gold Flatware from Crate and Barrel, vintage floral etched crystal wine glasses, misc holiday decor from Wild Flowers in Denver, vintage glass candle holders, and a floral arrangement from Beet and Yarrow

Since the Lenox Holiday China is formal I wanted to tone it down. The cute deer salt and pepper shakers, white paper trees, and the gold/silver trees adds the right amount of whimsey. All from my local go to store - Wild Flowers.

Wishing you a happy holidays!
