Been flipping through recent sets lately and a few things keep catching my eye that nobody’s really talking about yet. Prices are still low on TCGPlayer, mostly under $30 raw, and they haven’t jumped like the big chases have. Not calling these moonshots, just stuff that feels quietly solid for one reason or another.
Roaring Moon ex (Paradox Rift 229/182 or 251/182 variants) Still around $3-6 for most versions. Ancient type with time-attack moves. Meta’s shifting a bit and it fits some decks better now. The art’s got that cosmic look too. Paradox hype died down fast so this one’s been ignored, but Ancient stuff tends to cycle back around eventually.

Lana’s Aid full art (Twilight Masquerade 219/167) $23-26 or so. Supporter that heals and draws, works nice in Ogerpon builds. Alolan nostalgia helps, and it’s useful without being a staple everyone hoards. Supporters like this start creeping when control decks get more play. Feels like one collectors will pick up later when they’re actually building around it.

Dachsbun ex (Stellar Crown 160/142 or 067/142) Full art versions $3-5, double rare under a buck sometimes. Fairy-type protection against big hitters. Got buried under Terapagos noise. Fairy decks come and go, but the art’s cute enough for casual collectors to keep it around. Utility cards like this hang on longer than people expect.

Earthen Vessel (Shrouded Fable 096/064) About $15-20 for hyper rare versions. ACE SPEC search/setup card that’s perfect for Mega decks but didn’t get much love. Set focused on Kitakami so print run felt smaller. Tools like this get grabbed quietly when the mechanic shows up again. Good for anyone messing with specific builds.

Mew ex (Paldean Fates 216/091 or 232/091) Shiny versions $23-30 range for more common ones (higher SIRs spike way more). Super flexible, slots into almost anything. Shiny craze cooled off though. Mythicals always have that anniversary pull, and versatility keeps it useful. Collectors who like wildcards tend to snag these when filling holes.

None of these are the ones everyone’s posting about right now. But they have decent art, play in niche decks, or just sit there waiting for the right moment. Reminds me how some XY commons ended up being the ones I still have years later because they were useful or looked good.
Might grab a couple if prices stay this low. We’ll see. this low.
